PHOTO CONTEST

They say a picture tells a thousand stories.

What story does this one tell you? Want to have some fun? Well, I have a contest for you. Share the story this picture tells you in 100 words or less.  You can use poetry, prose, or freestyle writing to express your story.

I will publish three random submissions next Tuesday. If your story is selected, I will include your name, your blog name (if you have a blog/website), a brief tag line or blog description, and a link back to your blog.

While I welcome comments, please DO NOT put contest submissions into the comment box.

I will only accept submissions that are EMAILED to me through my contact page.  In the subject line put, Photo Story Submission. Also, remember to include the following with your submission:  Your name, the name of your blog, and a tag line or brief blog description (no more than 25 words).

I look forward to your entries and I hope you have lots of fun with this!

Hi Sara. This is a very interesting picture. I’m going to marinate on this for a couple of days and see what I can come up with. It will be interesting to see what people come up with. The stories could pretty much go one of two ways… either really deep and serious, or over the top humour.

Oh! Way cool! I’ll get right on this tomorrow. 100 words will be a challenge to capture it, but I’m always up for a challenge.

@ Urban Panther — If anyone can do this, I know you can. I’ve read your writings and they are fabulous. I look forward to your entry very much.

@ Davina — Don’t marinate too long…I hate for you to become a pickle :~) I’m really looking forward to what people do with this. I always enjoy how creative people can be! And I think this picture can tell many different stories. Hopefully, people will have fun with it.

Hi Sara. Ok, now that was pretty funny, lol. If I were to become a pickle, I’d be a crispy one, not a soggy one. Ha, ha!

Excellent idea! I’ve been wanting to publish thought-provoking pictures on my site too but never got round to it.

I would love to join but may have to pass in view of other work that has come up. I’m going to be checking in next week on the winning submission, though! All the best!

Neat one Sara, something came to me as soon as I saw it :) ))))

So there will be a little something in your mail box for sure!

Great idea by the way and thanks for the invite!

Sara, the outline of this wooden structure can be viewed as the outline of a magic lamp. As a person adjusts his actions, behaviours and chooses to expand the senses, where he goes next is uprecedented. Portholes to other worlds exist all around you. As you open the heart and mind, you suddenly stumble upon unexpected doors. Yet what appears unexpected is something you sense on subtler levels. When you are consciously ready, you open doors and enter new realms.

A horrid, tentacled H.P. Lovecraft-style polar beast has burst through the ice in search of prey! You were brave to get close enough to take that photo.

Unfortunately I was unable to participate this time round.
I’ll be back :-)

best wishes Ribbon

Sara April 5, 2009 at 2:18 pm
