Look what I made – a 2010 calendar! I used some of my favorite photographs and wrote my own messages to accompany them. The photograph you see above was used for the month of January. I had SO much fun doing this!
I came across a great program at www.kodakgallery.com that allows you to make calendars in a quick and easy way. I hesitated at first, because I was concerned they might not be of good quality.
I’m glad I went ahead and ordered them because I was impressed when they arrived. They are printed on a heavy stock and the photographs look great – it IS Kodak after all:~)
I don’t cook, sew or knit, so I’ve never been able to give anyone a gift that I’ve made myself. These calendars are an opportunity for me to share my passion for writing and photography with my friends and family.
I ordered extra copies because I thought this would be a great giveaway for people who comment on my blog. You share through your comments and I’d like to share this gift with you.
I don’t have enough copies to give everyone a calendar, so I’ve decided to do a draw.
Here’s the deal:
1) To qualify to win a calendar, comment on my upcoming posts this Thursday, December 3 and/or Monday, December 7.
2) Every person who leaves a comment on one of those two posts will have their name put in the proverbial “hat”. If you comment on both posts, your name goes in twice.
3) Four names will be drawn and on Thursday, December 10, I will announce the lucky winners of this one-of-a-kind 2010 Calendar!

Wow, Sara, if January’s photo is any indication you’ve created a gorgoeous calendar! What a beautiful and personalized gift!

@ Talon — You are the first name in the HAT!!! YEAH for you:~)
I am proud of this calendar. It was a challenge, but lots of fun to make. I matched the pictures with my own quotes. The Kodak gallery that I mentioned is wonderful. Not only is it easy to use, but they live online help and the people are actually very helpful….give it a try sometimes. They have more options than calendars.
I think this is a GREAT idea – and so YOU! Love it!

Ooooh I hope I win one!
I have to agree with Talon that the photo you’ve used for January is phenomenal. Together with the quotes you’ve written, this will be worthy of keeping even AFTER 2010.

@ Davina — What a nice thing to say. I hope the people who receive the calendar will enjoy it:~)
Sara, you’re quite an artist. I love your words and photography. So who cares if you can’t cook, sew, or knit? The photo you have up is stunning, and if we don’t win the contest, I bet I’m not the only one who’d love to purchase the calendar.

@ Patty — You are very nice about the calendar. I’m not sure about purchasing it, but it sure was fun to make. I love matching pictures and words. I was going to use regular quotes, but decided that each of these pictures was special to me and therefore the words about them should come from me. Thank you for your kind words:~)
It is a proverbial green hat with yellow and purple dingle balls?? Is it?? Is it?? That’s my favorite kind.
xo
See you tomorrow.

@ Jannie — I’m still debating on what hat to use. Unfortunately, I don’t have a green hat with yellow and purple dingle balls. I do have a Christmas tree hat, the stocking hat, the Grinch hat (maybe not good a drawing) and a hat that fits my dog…she hates to wear it:~)
Hi Sara. I think we all must be very pleased you don’t sew or knit. Leave that to us, we rather have a calendar.
.-= Wilma Ham´s last blog ..A whole new world, a whole new community. =-.
@ Wilma — I’m glad you’d rather have the calendar! The other option isn’t a great one. The one time I made a potholder, it was truly the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen and my mom had to smile and thank me. I made it with this child’s potholder maker I got one Christmas. Now that I think about it, I don’t remember seeing it again after I gave my mom that potholder:~)
Hi Sara,
Me. Me. Me. Pick me.
I love the idea of a calender give away. And to have it created exclusively by you is like the icing on the cake.

Hi Sara! What a talent you have – great idea for a giveaway too! I won a raffle once – forty years ago. Lucky me. It was a LIVE turkey! I was single living in an apartment and had to drive the damn live bird in his crate home with me. I had to give it to the janitor of my building – thank heavens HE was delighted! So there is the brief history of MY luck. In this case, a pity pick will do!

@ SuZen — You won a LIVE turkey…oh yuck. That would be so hard for me. I’d have to keep him as a pet. Perhaps giving him to the janitor of your building was a much better idea. BTW I only won something one time in my life. it was a Halloween GO FISH game and I won a kitten. It turned out later that it was run by the Humane Society and that EVERY kid who put their line over the wall won something. There were lots of parents not to pleased about this. I kept my kitty and of course, named her Halloween:~)
Hey everyone,
Just to let you know since I sort of messed up my own instructions. I am including everyone who commented on this Wednesday post in the giveaway! So, if you left a comment here, your name is in the hat:~)
Just goes to show that I should visit more often. Oh well, can’t be helped. Still, it looks like you’ve crafted one fine gift there! Kudos, Sara!

@ Tony — I’ll take a visit from you anytime. I regret that the calendar giveaway is done, but I appreciate your kind words:~)
