@ Dot — Thanks for your comment. For some reason, your comment reminded me of something from a book I’m reading, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. One of the characters is wearing a T-shirt that says “Armageddon was yesterday — Today we have a serious problem!” I love this line:~)

Much as I want to believe in doomsday I am not convinced. Humans will make their own destruction.

I read many of the predictions years ago, and it has been interesting to see how many huge disasters we’ve had in the past decade, but other than that, I haven’t seen any signs of impending doom. Some of the predictors have suggested that making us aware of the possible “doom” could help us avert it, so I suppose that’s a reason for doomsaying. I like the idea of Y2K II — nothing happens.

@ Tony — I saw that you have a new post and so, I briefly checked in with your site. Now, I know what you’ve been up to! What can I say, but Wow!!!! I love the new site– it’s so dynamic; it’s full of colors and life. I can’t wait to visit and read your latest. Congratulations to both you and Cassy:~)

Regarding your comment about the doomsayers, my ex-husband studied to be a priest. As I wasn’t Catholic and even really raised with one particular religion, he always amazed me at how open-minded he was about religion. He told me once that when you actually study religion, you have no choice but to be more accepting and hopeful about the world. I see this same attitude in your comment and appreciate it very much:~)

@ Davina — The “art” was lots of fun…so thanks! Good for you for not worrying about the 2012 doomsday predictions and staying away from doomsayers:~)

Your comment makes me realize that in fairness, I should mention that there are many positive views about 2012. For example, on SuZen’s site she mentions an author, Gill Edwards, who is included in the 2012 book she reviewed. Here’s a quote from SuZen’s site: “Edwards says this is a time all about love. It is about expanding our consciousness beyond the old creation myths and realizing the cosmos is based upon unconditional love, from which we are inseparable.”

To me, Gill Edwards’ beliefs are the total opposite of what the doomsayers are predicting!

@ Jannie — Thanks about the picture…see my comment to Patty about this. Somehow it doesn’t surprise me that you cannot get on board with doomsayers. It’s hard to be a doomsayer and stay as positive as you are:~)

Regarding donating to Haiti Relief, did you know that texting on cell phones has raised, to date, 8 million dollars for Haiti relief? I learned this on the Weather Channel. I don’t text, but here’s what the Weather Channel says you can do:

Text “HAITI” to “90999″ and a donation of $10 will be given automatically to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts, charged to your cell phone bill.
Text “YELE” to “501501″ and a donation of $5 will be made automatically to the Yele organization (Wyclef Jean’s Haiti relief organization)

@ Patty — Thanks about the art. I’m rediscovering my “child.” I found some washable markers not long ago and I have been playing ever since. While I recognize my “art” will never be in the Louvre and even 5-year-old children can paint better than me, I do have fun:~)
